This week we had a guest speaker, Jesse Miller, who talked to our class about our presence on social media as prospective teachers. He brought up how we should educate future students on the dangers and advantages of having an online presence and teach resilience and regulations to provide students with an understanding of staying safe.

Especially in the decade, we live in today it scarier than ever to share opinions, thoughts, and photos, as the world is closing in on cancel culture. I become scared that if I have a big social media presence one day something that I have posted will surface in the future and ridicule me or make it hard to get a job in the future.

Therefore, I make my social presence private to my educational life, I use separate emails and always make my settings private to avoid these situations. I believe that educating students on using social media responsibly will considerable help future students prepare themselves and post responsibly on social media.
