I made this piece a couple of days ago and gave it to a friend for her birthday. 
I traced the design and used the running back stitch to thread together with this piece. I traced the artwork and used a 5-inch embroidery hoop. I learned that some embroidery thread is too thick for some designs, and splitting the thread is necessary. I split the embroidery thread for this piece so there were only 3 strings rather than 6. Overall, I am really happy with how it turned out!
