Hi Emily, I really enjoyed reading your blog post this week. I am as well in my third year of the B.Ed program and find many of my thoughts similar to yours. I use Tik Tok in the exact same way (I love Teacher Tok and actually had a hard time finding where to place it. I also found it really interesting that you have two Twitter accounts, and find that really smart, I had not thought about doing so.

I agree with your opinion on WordPress and find it very beneficial as an online teaching portfolio. I think it will very resourceful when applying for jobs and allowing potential employers to overview our work in the program. I as well will continue to post and update my blog throughout our program.

I also find my digital identity anxiety-inducing and have fears about potential job offers. No one should ever see my Facebook photos from 2011, haha. You pose a really good question, and I wonder if there is any way to “clean up” our footprint on the internet. I wonder if there is a way I am able to research my digital identity similarly to future employers. Like, how do they background check our information and identity? What do they find that I cannot.

It sounds like you are very professional and careful about your online presence, and I hope your goal of becoming a resident on Twitter goes well, I as well want to have more of a presence, but first need to understand how the app works, haha! I look forward to reading more of your blogs!

Hello Helen, I found your post very interesting and well-written. I personally have not used LinkedIn and am glad to hear that it helps you connect and build your professional network. I also agree that it is important to build a strong presence online for future employment opportunities. Great idea to include a professional headshot, quite frankly I had not thought about this before and believe that it would be very beneficial.

I agree that it is a good idea to keep personal and professional accounts seperate. I like your statement on not posting something that you would not say in person, and find this a great way to decipher between professional vs unprofessional content.

Sounds like you are very confident with your online presence, especially on LinkedIn. I believe that it is important to provide a professional online presence, rather than no presence at all, as it displays confidence and a professional reputation. Good luck with your future employment and I look forward to reading more of your blogs.
