Creative Clothing
Imagine that you are downtown in a clothing store and the perfect piece of clothing appears right in front of you. Your jaw drops and you try it on, the fit, the look, and the style are perfect. Then what every university student broke wellbeing fears, the price tag, clear as day staring right at you, and you can hear your maxed-out credit card crying from a distance.
I love clothing, and this issue has happened to me numerous times. So, I decided to have my free inquiry project be to make creative clothing. I want to restore and embellish thrifted clothing, to become more sustainable, as well as create and design my own clothing inspirations. I have been crocheting and knitting, since I was eight years old and love to make sweaters mittens, and dishcloths. I have always been interested in embroidery and sewing my own personal clothing. For this passion project, I want to use thrift clothing and fabric and create fun artistic outfits.
This blog will encompass;
- ideas of embroidery,
- different techniques of needlework,
- and some efforts to make my own pieces.
Embroidery is using a needle and thread in a delicate way on clothing. My goal for the semester is to produce at least three pieces and learn several different techniques. I have sold many of my crochet and knitting pieces and hope to practice this skill well enough to sell and produce my own clothing market.
